Multifield Inflation after Planck: The Case for Nonminimal Couplings    [PDF]

David I. Kaiser, Evangelos I. Sfakianakis
Multifield models of inflation with nonminimal couplings have concave potentials at large field values and convex potentials near the minimum. Across a broad range of couplings and initial conditions, such models evolve along an effectively single-field attractor solution. Trajectories in the attractor generically predict spectral observables in close agreement with recent observations. Future measurements of primordial isocurvature perturbations could break the observational degeneracy of this class of models.
