Another Discontinuity in Massive Gravity: Spin Orientations of Interacting Sources    [PDF]

Ibrahim Gullu, Bayram Tekin
We compute the scattering amplitude and the weak field potential energy between two separated point-like spinning, massive sources (such as two galaxies) in massive gravity. The spin-spin interaction potential energy in this theory differs from that of the weak field limit of General Relativity (GR) in a non-trivial way. GR favors anti-parallel spins, one pointing along and the other opposite to the radial vector combining the sources. On the other hand, for large separations massive gravity favors parallel spins pointing perpendicular to the radial vector combining the sources. We also compute the spin-spin coupling in higher curvature theories.
