In this paper the generation of the primordial curvature perturbation by
vector fields of general non-Abelian groups is discussed. We show that
non-Gaussianity of the perturbation is dominated by contributions from
superhorizon evolution of fields. Also we find that non-Abelian vector fields
of reasonably large groups can generate the total of the curvature perturbation
without violating observational constraints on the angular modulation of the
spectrum.
